Lyn is passionate about travel and the world she lives in and she enjoys capturing the beauty and wonder it presents. Lyn was fortunate to be brought up in a family that valued the beauty of our natural heritage and she travelled extensively throughout Australia as a child. Photography was a hobby of her fathers and from an early age he encouraged Lyn to take pictures and provided her with a great base from which she has now developed.

Lyn was originally an Early Childhood teacher who taught in a number of State and Private schools in New South Wales, Singapore and Queensland. Lyn lived in Singapore for 6 years with her husband and children and during this time she experienced the wonder of a vast array of people, cultures and landscape. Her love of travel and photography blossomed from there.

Lyn decided at the end of 2005 to make a career change and follow the passion she held for years - photography! Lyn attended a number of photographic workshops with Tom Putt and Glen Campbell; between them extremely talented in all areas of photography, including landscape, commercial, wedding and portrait. Their passion for photography is contagious and their skill is unsurpassed. The skills and knowledge Lyn gained from Tom and Glen began to show in her photography immediately.

Since leaving teaching, Lyn has been lucky enough to travel to and photograph a number of different places both in Australia and overseas, including (within Australia) The Great Ocean Road, Fraser Island, Cairns and the Daintree area, The Blue Mountains, Cradle Mountain, Mt Buffalo and Wilson's Promontory; and (overseas) Fiji, Singapore, The Maldives, India, China and Japan. Browse through the images on the right to view some of the amazing places Lyn has recently visited.

Lyn feels there are three things to photograph - People - Places - Products - and she enjoys experimenting with each of them. Lyn is currently shooting in all of these areas, which includes portraits, landscape and commercial; that is, people, places and products.

Lyn is currently living on the Sunshine Coast and held her first exhibition in conjunction with talented Sunshine Coast artist, Will Irving, in December 2007. Lyn held a portrait display at Lake Kawana Community Centre in May 2008 and she also has a permanent display of her landscape and nature work at Concept Tiles and Surfaces, Bokarina, Sunshine Coast.

Lyn is currently completing a Diploma of Photography (Professional Photography) with Australian College QED. Lyn is constantly attending workshops and seminars and is completing courses to develop and extend her photographic skills. Lyn became a student member of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) in 2008. Lyn entered the APPA's (Australian Professional Photographers Award) for her first time in 2008 and earnt a Silver Award for her Shanghai Nights image below.
